Respawn unveils Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay with 14 minutes of footage

Today during the EA Play event, Respawn finally gave fans a look at its Star Wars game it announced last year. Check out the full alpha gameplay footage of Jedi: Fallen Order that was shown off up above, which is set a few hours into the game with Cal Kestis - the protagonist - being on Kashyyyk trying to restart the Jedi Order.

In true Respawn fashion, double jumping, and wall running are quickly confirmed, with Lightsaber combat spiced up by generous use of the Force following soon. We also see some of the enemies we will be fighting, as Cal easily cuts down various types of Storm Troopers and wildlife.

While using Lightsabers, players can dodge, parry, counter, and utilize the Force, which include push, pull, and a "hold" that essentially freezes enemies and objects in place, to creatively to defeat them and for platforming purposes. In one occasion during the demo, Cal pulls an enemy into his own blaster fire, which was frozen beforehand.

There doesn’t seem to be any blood or gore in the game, however, with Lightsaber cuts appearing on the bodies as bright colored burns instead of chopping limbs off. The demo ends with a KX-series security droid showing up and promptly throwing around Cal.

Respawn added that the story will be canon in the Star Wars universe, taking place after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a November 15, 2019 release date, and it is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
