Rocket League update 1.34 brings back Neo Tokyo, adds a new Battle-Car and more

When Psyonix launched the futuristic styled Neo Tokyo map last year, it wasn"t particularly well received by players. The map"s unique raised side ramps were the main point of concern for many, which lead to Psyonix removing the map from rotation.

Update 1.34 will hit Rocket League this Wednesday, carrying with it a revamped version of Neo Tokyo to all players, a new Battle-Car, and other improvements to the 30 million players strong, car-based football game.

The new Neo Tokyo leaves behind the previously mentioned side ramps and adapts the layout of a standard map. The previous version, renamed to Tokyo Underpass, will still be available, but only accessible through offline and private match modes.

The brand new Battle-Car joining Rocket League with the update is the Mantis. Fans of the Batmobile Battle-Car"s hitbox and turn radius will be pleased to hear that the Mantis will be using the same car layout. However, unlike the Batmobile, the Mantis will be fully customizable and even arrives with six exclusive decals, namely Arrowhead, Battleworn, Kaze, Maxx, Roasted, and Uproar.

Players who are interested in getting a hold of the new Battle-Car can do so via opening the new Nitro Crates that the update will introduce. Besides the Mantis, the Nitro Crate can drop a variety of limited edition items, such as Black Market customizations, Rocket Trails, Wheels as well as Decals.

The update will also include a framework that will be utilized to provide in-game items for players purchasing the recently announced line-up of Rocket League Mini Pull-Back Racers. Psyonix says that "Once the blind-bag toys start hitting store shelves in June, Rare and Very Rare Pull-Back Racers will include unique codes redeemable for a set of in-game items."

Update 1.34"s full changelog will be made available sometime before the update arrives for Rocket League on May 10 at 3pm PDT.
