With the success and video-service domination of Netflix, especially with no other competitors may leave one to wonder if anyone will dare to take on the media giant. Rumor has it that Amazon is adding to their Video On-Demand service with an unlimited video streaming section for Amazon Prime members.

A reader on Engadget going by Pavel sent in screenshots to the site demonstrating this new practice by Amazon in their internet video section. The images show evidence of an on-demand, and free streaming service for Amazon Prime members in both Television and Movies. This method replaces the "Rent" feature for Prime members, allowing users to view the content for free.
Currently no one else has come forward according to the feedback on Engadget"s story, and here the option doesn"t show up either, although this account is a student Prime membership which may or may not include all of the same benefits.
The video service overall comes at a better monetary deal, with $79 per year versus $95.88 on Netflix. However, the selections appear to be limited to 480p SD like the other streaming media on Amazon currently. The selection consists of "unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of 5,000 movies and TV shows," which comes as a nice option to the services Netflix offers.
As there does not seem to be any wide roll out, details are sketchy, including audio and subtitle options, but if you have seen this new service pop up then please share your experience in the comments!
