The Galaxy S III, might have been one of the top selling phones of this year so far, but there are a lot of people you think devices that sport 4.8-inch screens are a little too big. However Samsung has recently sent out invites for an event with the headline “Size may be small” with the subheading reading “and so small may be big.”
The text from Samsung’s German branch translates to “that’s how big small can be.” However you look at it, Samsung is teasing something big and the chances are it is Galaxy device-related.
The “S” logo used for all of Samsung’s Galaxy S models is also present in the background of the invitation, so it could mean a smaller variation of the Galaxy S III will be made available for those with a little less space in their pockets.
The idea isn’t too farfetched considering how big the Galaxy S III actually is. Effectively, Samsung targeting consumers looking for smaller devices could work in their favor, as one complaint the Galaxy S III has received is that it’s too big to be used one handed, which is considered a big deciding factor in smartphone purchases.
With the iPhone 5 sporting a screen of 4-inches, it’s quite unlikely that Samsung would go smaller than that size if it has any hopes of competing with it. However, we have seen Samsung produce smartphones with even smaller screens in its Galaxy line-up in the past.
We’ll keep you posted when we find out more on this event and the device behind it.
