Rumor: Google Nexus 5 to cost $299/$399

Google Nexus 5 is launching soon and if a report from Phonearena is to be believed, the pricing for the phone"s variants would be $299 and $399 which is similar to the earlier Nexus smartphones.

The upcoming Nexus device has been featured in various leaks and spy shots around the web and most of the specifications have been revealed by a service manual which surfaced in the past few days. Now a tipster has revealed the pricing of the variants of the device.

Nexus 5 is expected to be based on the LG G2 and will feature a 4.95" IPS TFT 1080p display, 2GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 at 2.3GHz, 8 megapixel rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. The tipster mentions that the phone would come with a non-expandable 16GB storage for $299 and 32GB storage for $399. Interestingly, the 16GB version will be powered by a 2300mAH battery while the 32GB version will come with a 3000mAH battery which we haven"t seen in previous Nexus models.

Google is rumored to make the smartphone official on October 14th along with the release of Android 4.4 "KitKat" which will include various visual enhancements to the operating systems in addition to new features.
