Rumor: Logitech working on Windows 8-based touch mouse

It"s not exactly a shock to learn that major PC peripheral hardware companies are planning to make devices that will work specifically on Windows 8. Today, there"s a report that Logitech is working on two such products designed for Microsoft"s next operating system.

The Verge reports, via unnamed sources, that one of the products will be a touch mouse that will support the gestures found in Windows 8. It adds that the mouse will include some Logitech-made gestures that will be designed to help Windows 8 users find the "hot corners" on the "Metro" portion of the OS.

The same report claims that Logitech is also working on a Windows 8-based wireless rechargeable touchpad, again supporting the touch gestures in the "Metro" part of the OS. There"s no word on when these products will be launched or what they will cost.

Microsoft recently announced two PC perhipherals, the Wedge Keyboard and the Sculpt Keyboard, that both support Windows 8-based gestures. It"s more than likely we will hear from other PC mice, keyboard and trackpad makers about their own plans for Windows 8 leading up to the launch of the OS on October 26th.
