Rupert Murdoch calls Google "piracy leader"; supports SOPA

Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corporation, is a man who clearly likes to speak his mind, and that"s what he has been doing for the past few weeks after launching his own Twitter page. This weekend Murdoch has been slamming Google for what he calls its piracy issues.

In one Twitter post, Murdoch said, "Piracy leader is Google who streams movies free, sells advts around them. No wonder pouring millions into lobbying." Murdoch is likely referring to Google-owned YouTube which certainly does have a lot of copyrighted material that has been uploaded by its users. In another post, Murdoch states, "Just been to google search for mission impossible. Wow, several sites offering free links. I rest my case."

However, Murdoch isn"t completely against Google. In yet another post he said, "Understand more than all allege! Google great company doing many exciting things. Only one complaint, and it"s important." In another post he states, "Sure misunderstand many things, but not plain stealing. Incidentally google blocks many other undesirable things."

Murdoch also made a reference to the Stop Online Piracy Act on his Twitter page this weekend, specifically a post on the White House web page that feels SOPA does not work as currently written. Murdoch states, "So Obama has thrown in his lot with Silicon Valley paymasters who threaten all software creators with piracy, plain thievery."
