Samsung has announced a duo of new soundbars in the Q series, the HW-Q70R and the HW-Q60R. The devices are the result of a collaboration between Samsung Audio Lab and Karman Kardon, and Samsung says they"re smarter than ever.
That"s because of the new Adaptive Sound feature, which analyzes the content being displayed on the screen it"s connected to and adjusts the sound settings automatically for the experience. Plus, to line up with the company"s QLED TVs for this year, the soundbars will automatically use Adaptive Sound when connected to one of them, if you have enabled the AI mode.
Aside from that, the soundbars also feature Samsung"s Acoustic Beam technology which the company claims helps fill the entire room with sound and offers a "panoramic soundscape". They also support Bluetooth, if you just want to listen to music from your phone.
The more expensive of the two models announced today has support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound, as well, which was previously exclusive to Samsung"s high-end soundbars. It"s also just 2.3 inches tall, so it won"t have too big of a footprint under your TV.
The new soundbars will launch in April, but Samsung has only listed the HW-Q60R model on its U.S. store, marketed at $499.99. Pricing for the HW-Q70R model isn"t known yet.
