Samsung begins selling extended life battery for Galaxy Nexus

If you"re one of the early adopters who waited in line for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus that went on sale at Verizon yesterday, you may find yourself in a situation where the giant screen and LTE radio may leave your battery life a bit... lacking. Samsung has some help for you in the form of a 2100 mAh extended battery. It"ll only cost you another $50 on top of the $300 you just spent for your phone. ($700 if you want an unlocked version.)

The extended battery requires a new cover, which is included in the kit. Unfortunately this means that the slick and curvy styling of the Galaxy Nexus will become a little more bulky looking. The original battery is still a healthy 1850 mAh, and many users who don"t want the added bulk can opt for the $40 spare kit, which includes a standard size battery and charging station. Although some Galaxy Nexus owners have reported that the process of removing the battery cover is, as one review put it, "like tearing your nails off."
