Today, Samsung launched its Galaxy Note8, and with a price tag north of $900, it"s quite an investment. Luckily, those that were burned by the previous one - not physically, by the way - will be able to get a special trade-in discount from the firm.
According to The Verge, Samsung will offer former Galaxy Note7 owners the ability to trade-in their current phone for up to $425 off the Note8. The special promotion is an olive branch of sorts for Note7 owners that were inconvenienced when the phone was recalled twice and eventually discontinued completely. As of now, there are no details on how this promotion will work and if those that purchased their handset from other retailers will be able to take advantage of this deal. But details will be available directly from Samsung"s website when it goes live.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note8 start on August 24 in the US, with T-Mobile pricing it at $930, while AT&T and Verizon will have it for $950 and $960 respectively. If in the United Kingdom, you can already pre-order directly from Samsung, where it is priced at £869.
