Two months ago, the Samsung Galaxy A30 became available for sale in the United States for as low as $230 for the 32GB handset variant while the 64GB model would set you back another $20. Packing a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display, up to 4GB RAM, 4,000mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, the A30 may prove to be an attractive option for those who can"t afford typical flagship prices.
Now, it appears that a software update for the Galaxy A30 is making its way to smartphones in India, Thailand, and Malaysia with a firmware version of A305FDDU2ASE5 weighing in at 459MB.
In terms of what"s new, here are the two inclusions noted in the changelog:
- A new SLOW MOTION function has been added
- The compatibility with third-party applications has been improved. (Telegram)
The other notable inclusion in the update is June 2019 security patches for Android, which may be of particular interest for the security conscious. Furthermore, the previous update released a bit over a month ago included patches up to April 2019 for the mobile OS plus its own set of performance and stability updates.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy A30 sourced from one of the aforementioned countries, then you can avail yourself of the update by heading into Software update then Download & install within the Settings app.
