Samsung is rumored to be working on the successor to the Galaxy Buds+, codenamed the Galaxy Buds Beyond. The earbuds might also ship with the Galaxy S21 in the place of wired earphones. However, not much in terms of the design of the buds themselves were known. That changes now, as prolific leaker Evan Blass has posted images of Samsung’s upcoming offering, the Galaxy Buds Pro, on Voice.
The Buds Pro looks similar to the Buds+, sporting an in-ear design, unlike the Buds Live’s bean shape design. The changing case, however, seems to mirror that of the Buds Live. Earlier reports and certification listings suggest that the charging case will house a 472mAh battery – identical to the Buds Live case. Folks over at SamMobile add that the Buds Pro might come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), something that the Buds and Buds+ did not offer.
Blass also speculates that the Galaxy Buds Pro will sell alongside the Buds+ instead of replacing the predecessor - which could see a price drop after the launch of the Buds Pro. The device is expected to be made available for purchase in the first quarter of next year, but there is no word on pricing.
It will be interesting to see what the company delivers with the new Buds Pro and if the offering will be bundled with early adopters of the Galaxy S21 series, which is said to launch sometime next month, sooner than the usual schedule.
