Samsung Galaxy Camera available from today at AT&T

Is it a phone or a digital camera? The answer to that is that it"s almost both; packing Android Jellybean and a familiar Samsung Smartphone UI, the only thing you can"t do is place a call on it. It will let you do everything else though for an off contract price of $499 USD, or on contract at AT&T for one of their many data plans available in store from today.

The Galaxy Camera packs in optical image stabilisation (OIS) to ensure that images get as much light as possible and remove camera wobble when shooting video. It also sports a 16.3MP 1/2.3in BSI CMOS sensor, 21x zoom, a 4.8-inch 1280 x 720p HD display, Samsung’s 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage and multiple expandable storage options, all topped off with Android Jelly Bean (4.1). It also supports HSPA+ radios as well as 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and more.

It"s essentially a phone with a camera attached, that doesn"t make calls.

As pointed out last week, people who purchase the Samsung Galaxy Camera from AT&T will also get five GB of free cloud storage space via the AT&T Locker service.
