Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 10 update for the Galaxy Fold. Despite the Fold being Samsung"s first foldable device and carrying a price tag of nearly $2,000, the company has taken its own time in rolling out the Android 10 update for it. Google had officially released the stable version of Android 10 for all Pixels in the first week of September so Samsung is only about seven months late here.
The company first rolled out the Android 10 update for the Galaxy S10 in late November last year and then followed it up with the Galaxy Note10"s a couple of weeks later. Samsung had been running an Android 10 beta program for these devices a few weeks prior to that as well. However, despite the high price tag of the Galaxy Fold, the company never launched a similar beta program for it or prioritized the stable Android 10 update for it.
For now, Samsung has started rolling out Galaxy Fold"s Android 10 update in France. The update weighs around 2.2GB and brings One UI 2.1 and March 2020 security patch along with it as well. This includes new system animations, new navigation gestures, redesigned Camera app, OneDrive integration in Gallery app, and more. You can read about the top new One UI 2.0 features here. A wider roll-out of the Galaxy Fold"s Android 10 update worldwide should commence in the coming weeks.
