The 5.3 inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone is arguably the biggest smartphone ever made. In February, the company announced the 10.1 inch version of the Galaxy Note, a true tablet product. Now Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note, which is currently running on Android 2.3, will be getting a big software update later this year.
In a press release today, Samsung announced that it will offer what it is calling a "Premium Suite upgrade" for all Galaxy Note owners worldwide. The upgrade, which will happen sometime in the second quarter of 2012, will include what Galaxy Note users have been waiting on; an update to the new Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system.
The Premium Suite upgrade will also add new apps made especially for the Galaxy Note"s S-Pen stylus. They include S Note, which will allow users to "combine your notes or sketches with other digital content, giving you a new way to create your own stories." Yet another software addition is My Store which will let users create their own custom digital cards. Those cards can include hand written notes, videos, texts, picture and more.
The software update will also have something special for fans of the Angry Birds game series. It will contain a free and exclusive level for the just released game Angry Birds Space. A 30 level "Danger Zone" challenge pack for the game will be made available for free to Galaxy Note users if the software update is unpacked in its first three month period.
