Yesterday, Samsung released its spring 2019 range of flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10+. T-Mobile gave us a review unit of the Galaxy S10+, and so far, the device is stunning.
For one thing, it"s among the first devices on the market to include Qualcomm"s new Snapdragon 855 chipset. That means that it can support multi-gigabit LTE speeds and more. One key feature is the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which can apparently accurately detect your fingerprint even if it"s dirty or wet.
Another feature of the Galaxy S10+ that"s enabled by the chipset is the ability to record video in HDR10+, an HDR standard that Samsung has been using for a while now in its Smart TVs. And while that"s impressive, you can also record video in portrait mode for the first time.
But most importantly, Samsung has finally shrunken down those top and bottom bezels. Rather than using a notch, it has an Infinity O display with a hole cut out for the front camera. In my opinion, it"s much less obtrusive than a notch, as I noted in my Honor View 20 review.
