Samsung is expected to unveil a host of devices during its virtual Unpacked event on August 5 such as the flagship Note20 Ultra, a more affordable Note20, the second-generation Galaxy Fold dubbed the Z Fold 2, and more. However, the firm is also reportedly working on a ‘Lite’ version of the company’s S20 flagship. The device is supposedly called the S20 Fan Edition (FE).
A few specs about the device leaked already pointing at the possibility of impressive specs. The phone is said to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 865 processor and could offer a 120Hz high refresh rate display and a triple-camera setup, all for $750. Now, more information about the battery specification has leaked, thanks to GalaxyClub. The phone is reportedly packing a battery with a rated capacity of 4370mAh, suggesting that the typical unit is a 4500mAh one. If accurate, the capacity will be identical to the S20 Lite.
Additionally, the publication also reports that the device will be offered in four colors – Red, White, Green, and Orange. However, the options may vary depending on the region. The publication also corroborates earlier reporting about the camera specifications and notes that the phone will house a triple camera setup. The primary camera and wide-angle units will have 12MP sensors, while the telephoto lens will be an 8MP unit.
If these rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy S20 FE will pack high-end specs at a more affordable price point, making it a viable alternative to those that do not wish to spend close to $1,000 on a smartphone. The smartphone is supposedly slated for an October release.
