The Galaxy S21 series has already leaked in renders and now there are reports of Samsung launching the device earlier than usual next year. A report from Korea now further corroborates this rumor indicating that Samsung will hold its Unpacked event in mid-January and then put the Galaxy S21 series on sale later that month or in early February.
Samsung typically holds an Unpacked event in late Feb or early March to unveil its flagship Galaxy S lineup for the year. For 2021 though, the company is planning on launching the devices a few weeks earlier than its usual timeframe to counteract the iPhone 12 launch and the pandemic. The company is reportedly planning to have a flexible launch cycle for its products next year due to Covid-19. The pandemic also means that Samsung is unlikely to hold a physical Unpacked event for the Galaxy S21 unveiling.
The early launch of the Galaxy S21 series will also help Samsung in reclaiming more market share from Huawei whose smartphone business survival is at stake after the U.S. government moved to block Huawei"s international chip supply.
Mass production of the new flagship devices from Samsung is also expected to start soon at its South Korean factories. Other reports surrounding the Galaxy S21 also point to Samsung considering removing the bundled earphones from the box, though it could also go ahead and remove the charger as well.
