The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are still a few months away, but we already know about some key details of the handsets. The company is expected to make some design changes, especially the placement of the fingerprint sensor by moving it just beneath the camera.
As for the specifications, we can expect top-of-the-line hardware with two variants; one featuring a Snapdragon 845 processor for the US while the international model is expected to come with the in-house Exynos 9810 processor.
The Snapdragon 845 variant recently made a pitstop at Geekbench with an impressive benchmarking score with a model number SM-G965U1. The model in question got a single-core benchmark score of 2422, and a multi-core score of 8351. The listing on Geekbench also reveals that the device comes with 6GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo as its operating system.
Its worth mentioning that the benchmarking websites often misinterpret specifications and results so the final products may turn out to be different.
Previous rumors suggest the alleged Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ is expected to come with a 12MP dual-camera setup, an 8MP front-facing camera, an iris scanner and a fingerprint sensor at the back.
Some rumors hinted that the devices are expected to launch at CES 2018 next month, but the Korean company has denied those rumors. Latest reports suggest that Samsung will unveil the devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February 2018.
