Samsung have been riding on the wave of success with the Galaxy SIII. So what better way to push the brand forward, but to release a more pocket friendly version of the flagship device.
The Galaxy SIII mini has been officially unveiled by Samsung and our friends over at Engadget got a look at the device first hand. There was a worry that the handset would be a less sophisticated version of its big brother, but a comment made by Samsung mobile head JK Shin had suggested it would sport the same specs. But it hasn’t worked out quite like that. It does still mean a smaller, iPhone-esque, form factor for the SIII lovers.

The nice thing is the design; its nearly identical to the original SIII, with the handset coming in white and a pebble blue version expected as well. But would you be willing to trade performance for design and looks? Pricing, availability and carriers offering the handset are yet to be confirmed.
I wonder if they are going to stick with the mini moniker, or will Apple attack them for that one too?!
