With the tablet market starting to really heat up, tablets from a variety of companies are cashing in on the success of the iPad. Samsung announced today through a South Korean news paper called "The Korea Herald", that they have sold 600,000 units worldwide, via Engadget.com
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab back in September, which consists of a 1Ghz processor with 512MB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB flash storage with a MicroSD expansion slot, a front facing camera, rear 3MP camera with LED flash, all on a 7-inch TFT LCD screen.
Samsung hopes that consumers would compare apples to Apple"s (iPad) has paid off. The company has sold 30,000 units alone in Korea since its launch on November 14. The Android powered device also debuted in the United States on November 14, but no official sales figures have been released from various carriers. The Galaxy Tab has also been released in various parts of the world, including parts of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Samsung is looking to take chuck of the tablet market share away from Apple, which currently dominates with a whopping 95%.
