Samsung has announced the Galaxy A6 and A6+ boasting powerful cameras

Samsung has announced that it is launching the Galaxy A6 and A6+ from early May in select European, Asian, and Latin American markets before rolling them out to South Korea, Africa, and China. The Korean firm is pushing the device as being able to meet practical needs with its advanced cameras and all round decent specifications.

The specifications for the devices are listed below:

  • Display – A6: 5.6” HD+ (720 x 1480) Super AMOLED, A6+: 6.0” FHD+ (1080 x 2220) Super AMOLED.
  • Camera – A6: Rear 16MP AF (F1.7) & Front 16MP FF (F1.9), A6+: Rear 16MP AF (F.17) + 5MP FF (F1.9) & Front 24MP FF (1.9).
  • Processor – A6: Octa Core 1.6GHz, A6+: Octa Core 1.8GHz.
  • Memory – 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB Internal Storage, Up to 256GB Micro SD.
  • Battery – A6: 3,000mAh, A6+: 3,500mAh.
  • Operating system: Android 8.0 Oreo.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), HT40, Bluetooth 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-B, NFC, GPS, Glonass, BeiDou.

Discussing the new products, Junho Park, VP of Global Product Planning, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

The Galaxy A6 and A6+ draws on Samsung’s smartphone heritage to combine everyday convenience with an impressive camera that lets users capture, personalize and share moments, in a way that lets them uniquely express themselves.”

Samsung said the powerful cameras included on both devices can take beautiful shots and selfies at any time and anywhere. The adjustable LED flash makes it possible to take selfies during the day or at night, and the camera’s low-aperture lenses let users take good photos in low light conditions. Additionally, the depth of field of photos can be controlled with Live Focus mode. The two devices also come with support for Bixby Vision, Home and Reminder. The Bixby assistant helps users complete their everyday tasks making the devices even more practical, according to Samsung.

Lastly, the two devices incorporate popular features from the firm’s flagship devices including Face Recognition, and Fingerprint scanning which lets users gain access to the devices in a secure but hassle-free manner.

No prices for the two devices have been announced just yet.
