Samsung is getting rid of a few features of its Health platform. The company sent out a notice in Germany today informing Health users that the wellness service will discontinue its weight, calorie, and caffeine tracking capabilities (via SamMobile).
The notice warns that those pieces of information will be removed starting with version 6.11 of the Health app on Galaxy smartphones and version 4.10 on the Galaxy Watch. In addition, watch faces that originally used to support those features will no longer display those data. Also, Galaxy Fit or Watch users who have the habit of checking these metrics using widgets can no longer view these contents on their Samsung phones when they update to the latest version of Health. Samsung says it will remove all related data after a certain period, though these will be saved temporarily.
These changes will take effect beginning this month when Samsung releases the updated version of Health to mobile devices and smartwatches. While the notice is being sent in Germany, it"s possible that the company will also roll out the update to other markets.
