Samsung has announced that it"s launching a new version of the Galaxy S20 FE, the more affordable variant of its flagship that launched in September. This new tier will retain most of the same specs, but it will increase the internal storage available to 256GB, instead of the 128GB of the base model.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is Samsung"s attempt at competing in the same space as OnePlus, bringing some top-tier specs to a lower price range. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and a 120Hz AMOLED display, which should ensure everything looks and feels smooth. The battery is actually bigger than the regular Galaxy S20, at 4,500mAh.
It also has a triple-camera setup on the back, with a main 12MP sensor, an ultra-wide camera that"s also 12MP, and an 8MP telephoto lens, which is the most notable downgrade over the regular Galaxy S20. The front-facing camera is 32MP instead of the 10MP sensor of the Galaxy S20, but it lacks autofocus.
The new model with 256GB of storage will be available in the Cloud Navy color from 12:01AM ET on November 6, and it costs $769.99. The launch just so happens to coincide with Apple opening orders for the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max.
