Samsung may offer a new warranty called 'Guard S8' for its Galaxy S8

As we get closer and closer to the official unveiling of Samsung"s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, there are more and more details that come to light. Today, we saw the leak of a lot of its accessories, now we get word of the handsets" extended warranty.

While the idea of offering an extended warranty isn"t new, it appears that Samsung may offer a new plan specifically for the Galaxy S8 called "Guard S8". According to the folks at WinFuture.de, the warranty will be a bit different from the current one the firm offers with benefits like having your device repaired within two hours or a one-time replacement of the display at no charge. Lastly, there will be the option of remote support on the devices themselves.

Currently, the firm does have an extended plan for its handsets dubbed "Samsung Protection Plus". It offers coverage for accidental and mechanical damage and up to two replacements within a 12 month period. This plan relies on the user filing a claim and Samsung shipping a new device to the customer.

Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on March 29. If you"d like to be better prepared for the event, you can download the UNPACKED 2017 app to your device. It will give you access to event info, videos, and a live stream when it becomes available.
