While we already heard that Apple is rumored to again release three iPhones next year, the smallest of which could come in at 5.8-inches, Samsung is now also rumored to launch three Galaxy S9 devices, but their third offering will be a Galaxy S9 "Mini".
According to a report over on ValueWalk, the S9 Mini will feature a curved "edge" infinity display at just under 5-inches. Nothing more is known at this point and the original source of the rumor seems to stem from an (unlinked) post on Chinese social media website, Weibo by a user on Twitter called "Ice universe".
Samsung has long been rumored to release a "Mini" variant of its Galaxy S smartphones, starting with the S7 and later the S8, but both failed to materialize, so this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt. The South Korean company is expected to launch the S9 flagships in March 2018, but that is also just a rumor for now, with nothing official being announced thus far.
Other rumors indicate that the S9 will not get an "under screen" fingerprint sensor, but that it will feature the Snapdragon 845 SoC. In addition, the rear is rumored to be drastically altered, and around the front, will include a vastly improved front camera. Oh, and video processing will be four times faster than the iPhone X.
