Samsung opens pre-orders for the Odyssey G9 and G7 gaming monitors

At this year"s CES, Samsung introduced its new lineup of gaming monitors consisting of the Odyssey G9 and G7. Today, the company announced that the displays are available for pre-order, starting at $699.99 for the G7 and $1699.99 for the G9.

Both models have a 1440p QLED 1000R curvature with a 1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate. These monitors also support Nvidia"s G-SYNC and Adaptive Sync over DisplayPort 1.4, which are supposed to deliver a much smoother gameplay. The G9 sports a 49-inch dual QHD (5120x1440) display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. It also features Quantum Dot technology combined with an HDR1000 VA panel for "lifelike colors". On the other hand, the G7 is a cheaper model, coming in two variants: 27-inch and 32-inch. With its lesser price, there are some trade-offs in terms of features such as reduced display resolution at 2560x1440, less brightness at 600 nits, and HDR600 VA panel.

When it comes to design, the G9 has a glossy white finish and an "infinity core" on the back while the G7 boasts a matte black external body. The monitors will be available for purchase from July 13 via Samsung"s website and partner retailers. In the meantime, you can pre-order the G9 here and the G7 here.
