Samsung Pay may finally be coming to the UK on May 16

Samsung Pay"s launch in the UK missed its original launch date and was delayed until this year, while the payment service continued to expand to new countries during the interim period. Now, it seems that the company might finally be ready to launch the service in the UK if a new report is to be believed.

According to SamMobile, two customer care executives conversing with Alex, one of the site"s readers, have mentioned May 16 as the date for the availability of Samsung Pay in the UK. The consistency of the date between the two conversations adds a bit of credibility to it.

Alex also asked whether the service will support both Near-field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST), but received differing responses from the executives. One of them replied that both modes will be supported while the other one was not sure.

If Samsung is indeed ready to make its Pay service available on May 16, we can expect some sort of announcement from the company in the near future. Also, it remains to be seen whether the company has sorted out partnership issues with banks in the country, which seemingly caused the hold up so far.
