Samsung Pay now available as an invite-only beta in the US

Samsung has made Samsung Pay available as an invite-only beta in the United States on all major carriers except Verizon.

At the recently concluded, Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphones the Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. Alongside the announcement, the company revealed that its payment system which was announced at an earlier event, would soon be made available in the United States.

Now, Samsung has set up an official registration page for interested users to try out Samsung Pay in the US. Participating carriers listed by Samsung include AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular. It isn"t clear why Verizon is not part of the program, but the situation could change by the time the service is ready for wider use.

Other than being a subscriber for the above mentioned carriers, the users also need to have MasterCard or Visa cards from Bank of America or U.S. Bank. The exact details of the qualifying cards are available on Samsung"s website.

Lastly, only users of Samsung"s latest crop of flagship devices which include the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note 5, can take part in this invitational beta program for now.
