Typically, Samsung has announced its Galaxy S handsets during Mobile World Congress (MWC). This all changed last year when the firm decided to hold its own event in New York to reveal the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. While there have been plenty of rumors that the successor could make an appearance at CES in January, a Samsung representative has now chimed in, stating that "it is unlikely".
The news comes from The Korean Herald, which has even come out to say that the firm will most likely either debut the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at MWC or at its own event in March. Regardless of the time frame, if renders are to be believed, the handsets will look quite similar to its predecessor, with only minor differences in design. As for specifications, it is being speculated that they will utilize the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
Regardless of when it will come to fruition, there isn"t that much time to wait, as January is just around the corner and before you know it, March will be upon us.
