Roughly a week after Samsung announced its latest generation of Galaxy flagship devices, the first software update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S10+ model. The update is hitting units in the Netherlands and likely in France and the U.K., though it"s still a no-show in the U.S.
The update comes in at 496.25MB along with the February 1 Android security patch. One major enhancement for the Galaxy S10+ is the addition of the Bixby button remapping capability announced by Samsung last week. This feature allows users to change the physical key"s function into something they may find more useful than launching Samsung"s in-house digital assistant.
Along with that feature, the update also introduces the first set of bug fixes and improvements to the handset including improved stability for the Camera app and an enhanced fingerprint recognition system. As a quick recap, the Galaxy S10+ has a triple camera setup on the back (along with the regular model) with 12MP, 13MP, and 16MP lenses. The device also includes an under-display fingerprint sensor.
Given that the phone has yet to hit consumers, this update is currently available to media outlets and other individuals who may have gotten their hands on the device for first impressions.
