Not content with having unveiled three new Galaxy J-series handsets - including a huge 7-inch smartphone - in recent days, Samsung has now launched two further lower-mid-range devices.
According to Samsung, the On7 Pro and On5 Pro "are a great affordable choice for those who do not compromise on style and features". It also claims that the two handsets offer "dazzling design", which is perhaps a bit of a stretch, given that the devices look an awful lot like so many other Samsung phones that came before them.
Perhaps the "premium Faux Leather back" of the two handsets will win buyers over. Perhaps not.
Both devices come with Android 6.0.1 pre-installed, and offer 4G LTE connectivity, but there are several key differences between their broader specs. First, let"s take a look at the Galaxy On5 Pro:
- 5-inch LCD with HD (1280x720px) resolution
- Quad-core 1.3GHz Exynos 3475 processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage (plus microSD card support)
- 8MP rear camera
- 5MP front-facing camera
- 2600mAh battery
And here are the key specs of the Galaxy On7 Pro:
- 5.5-inch LCD with HD (1280x720px) resolution
- Quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage (plus microSD card support)
- 13MP rear camera
- 8MP front-facing camera
- 3000mAh battery
The two handsets have already gone on sale via Amazon India, offered in both black and gold color options. The Galaxy On5 Pro is priced at Rs.9,190 INR (a little under $140 USD), while the On7 Pro will set you back Rs.11,910 (around $170).
It"s not yet clear if the two handsets will be offered in other markets - but given that there"s no shortage of other Samsung devices to choose from around the world, that"s not necessarily a bad thing.
