Ahead of the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2020 event tomorrow, Samsung has given us a look at what it will be showing at the event. The three new products include the 2020 QLED 8K SMART Signage, The Wall for Business, and the Samsung Flip 2. As these are primarily aimed at the corporate market, Samsung has not stated the price of these devices but has provided us with some specifications.
Commenting on the new products, Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said:
“Samsung is making tomorrow’s technology a reality with complete display solutions that are more immersive, collaborative and interactive than ever before. ISE is one of the best opportunities for Samsung to showcase advanced commercial applications of our industry-leading displays. We’re excited to unveil new features and expanded lineups of our digital signage with next-generation technology such as 8K, the new model of The Wall, collaborative displays and more that will provide businesses with opportunities they’ve never had before.”
The QLED 8K SMART Signage, according to Samsung, is the world’s first 8K display that’s intended for 24/7 operation. The display is powered by Tizen 5.5 and comes in four sizes: 65”, 75”, 82”, and 98”. It uses an AI Quantum Processor 8K which allows non-8K content to upscale while maintaining a “pristine and true-to-life 8K resolution.” The firm says ideal customers include the healthcare sector which could use DICOM mode to look at greyscale medical images such as X-rays and MRI, for non-diagnostic purposes. These devices will go up for sale during the first half of 2020.
The second device that Samsung unveiled is a new version of The Wall, this time dubbed The Wall for Business. The latest iteration features a range of configurable sizes and ratios from 219-292” 4K versions and 437-583” 8K versions. The Korean firm will be taking orders for this display in the next couple of days during ISE 2020. It said The Wall for Business would suit broadcast centres, lobbies, design centres, and more.
The last device to be revealed was the Samsung Flip 2, a digital flipchart with many uses across corporate, education, creative, and retail. This version maintains the best features from the first Samsung Flip but brings an enhanced design and several new functions which allow for better collaboration, sharing, and creative thinking. Samsung teamed up with Cisco to bring Webex to the Flip 2. Webex allows for two-way whiteboarding that enables remote collaboration.
If you’re going to ISE 2020, Samsung can be found at Amtrium booth #4-S100 inside the RAI, Amsterdam between February 11-14, 2020.
