Since a couple of days ago, Galaxy S7 edge users have taken to various forums to complain about a vertical pink line that begun appearing on their screens. Samsung has now acknowledged the issue and will be repairing these devices if they are under warranty and the display doesn"t have physical damage.
Samsung"s Benelux (Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg) subsidiary was contacted by Tweakers.net about the pink line issue. The company responded saying that, accidental drops or bumps can cause internal damage to the Galaxy S7 edge, which features a curved display. As a result, such lines or dead pixels can occur over a period of time.
A forum moderator for Samsung"s online forum revealed that the company will repair the affected Galaxy S7 edge unit if it is still covered under warranty, provided that there is no physical or liquid damage to the device.
It remains to be seen whether the issue is indeed due to faulty hardware or that users are crying foul after their devices survived a close call. In any case, if you have a Galaxy S7 edge affected by the issue you should contact your local Samsung service center to get it fixed.
