It"s certainly taking its sweet time, but Android 5.0, along with newer Lollipop versions that have been released since that one, are gradually making their way to devices around the world. Among the latest handsets to get 5.x releases are Samsung"s newest flagships, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge on T-Mobile, US Cellular and Sprint.
However, over in the UK, Samsung has delivered some bad news for owners of two of its earlier high-end devices, who had been hoping that the company would roll out a new OS update for their handsets.
In response to an enquiry from a customer on Twitter, Samsung UK replied that neither the Galaxy Note II nor the Galaxy S III will be upgraded to Lollipop, which means that both devices will remain stuck on Android 4.4.x KitKat.
Curiously, as TechRadar points out, Samsung has already approved the release of the Lollipop update for both of these handsets in Denmark and Poland, so it"s not quite clear why Samsung UK has decided not to support it.
