Samsung unveiled a new addition to its vast Galaxy range today - but unlike other Galaxy devices, the ultra-thin tablet doesn"t run Android, but Windows 10 instead.
The new Galaxy TabPro S is available with either Windows 10 Home for consumers, or Windows 10 Pro for business users, and features a 12-inch Super AMOLED display. Samsung claims that the device is also the first Windows tablet to feature support 4G LTE Cat 6 "for the fastest and most advanced connected experience".
Crammed into its sleek 6.3mm-thick body, its key specs include:
- 12-inch Super AMOLED with 2160x1440px resolution
- Dual-core 2.2GHz Intel Core M (6th-gen) processor
- 4GB RAM
- 128GB or 256GB SSD
- 5MP rear camera with autofocus
- 5MP front-facing camera
- GPS / GLONASS
- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO (including WiFi Direct support)
- NFC
- Bluetooth 4.1
- Optional 4G LTE Cat 6 connectivity
- 5200mAh battery
- 693g (Wi-Fi); 696g (4G LTE)
The Galaxy TabPro S comes with a "full-sized keyboard cover", which includes a touchpad, and a "flexible hinge [that] enables optimal dual-angle viewing for the clearest display in any circumstance", according to Samsung.
The device also includes fast-charging support, allowing it to fully charge in two and a half hours, and offers up to 10.5 hours of battery life. A multi-port adapter - including HDMI, and USB Type-A and -C connections - will be available to purchase separately, along with an optional Bluetooth Pen accessory.
The Galaxy TabPro S will go on sale "globally" from next month.
