Samsung has unveiled several new premium TV models that it plans to bring to CES 2022, which starts on Wednesday. This year, it’s going to release the new MICRO LED and Neo QLED TVs and update its Lifestyle TVs, such as The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif with a new Matte Display to eliminate glare.
MICRO LED
The first TV Samsung has unveiled is the 2022 MICRO LED. It will be available in three huge sizes, 110”, 101”, and 89”. The firm said this TV is very immersive as it features 25 million micrometer-sized LEDs that produce light and colour enabling better depth, colours, clarity, and contrast.
For those times when you’re not watching TV, you can enable Art Mode to display pieces of artwork or digital photography. The 2022 MICRO LED also comes with two exclusive works from the artist Refik Anadol. With Multi View, users can simultaneously view content from up to four sources in 4K at 120 fps via HDMI. Finally, it features Dolby Atmos from the top, side, and bottom channel speakers for a more immersive experience.
Neo QLED
Next up is the 2022 Neo QLED which comes with the Neo Quantum Processor to deliver great images and sound. This year"s processor adds advanced contrast mapping with back-light unit (BLU) which increases the brightness level for greater control of the Quantum Mini LEDs used in the device.
The newer processor also features Shape Adaptive Light technology to enhance the brightness and accuracy of shapes on the screen as well as Real Depth Enhancer, an algorithm that helps create “a greater sense of realism by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth.”
One feature that has been catching on in computing recently is the ability to turn down blue light; the new Neo QLED has a feature called EyeComfort mode which adjusts the screen’s brightness and tone based on information it gathers from the built-in light sensor and when the sun is due to set and rise. At night, this means you’ll see a reduction in blue light which could improve your sleep, though this is still open to debate.
Finally, the Neo QLED comes with Object Tracking Sound (OTS) Pro which makes sounds move across the room with the object on the screen. The TV has up-firing speakers that create overhead surround sound making the experience more dynamic.
Lifestyle TVs
Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle TVs, which includes The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif, will feature a new Matte Display with verification from Underwriter Laboratories for being ‘Reflection Glare Free’, ‘Discomfort Glare Free’, and ‘Disability Glare Free’. If you have any of these displays in a sunlit room, they should be easier to view compared to older models.
Pricing and availability for these TVs have not yet been shared but we could learn more when the firm unveils them officially at CES 2022.
