Samsung unveils new headphones powered by AKG

Samsung announced today a new bunch of headphones featuring AKG"s audio technology. The new Y600 NC and Y400 accessories promise a studio-like listening experience with a deep bass and rich mid-range.

The Y600 NC is the premium variant, offering active noise cancellation to minimize distraction when you"re listening to music. Plus, it features Ambient Aware and Talk Thru system to block echoes in order to keep your voice calls clear. It also automatically pauses music when you take the headphones off, and resumes playback when you put these back on.

The headphones come with the AKG app to let you control the accessory from your smartphone and include hands-free call and sound controls. The pair"s battery lasts up to 25 hours of wireless playback on a single charge, and can be extended for another four hours from a 10-minute charge, courtesy of the Speed Charge system.

For those on a budget, the Y400 is the less pricey option. This pair is a slimmed-down version of its more expensive sibling, featuring only the automatic play and pause controls as well as the Talk Thru tech and Ambient Aware capabilities.

Available starting today, both headphone models can fully charge for up to two hours. The Y600 NC costs £199, coming in black, gold and silver options. The Y400 retails for £109, available in black, blue, green, pink and rose gold. You can purchase the Y600 NC and the Y400 via Samsung"s UK website as well as its retail partners including SES, Argos, Amazon, Dixons, AO, Very, John Lewis, and EE.
