Samsung announced today its latest Galaxy M smartphone for the Indian market. The Korean tech giant made a commitment in 2019 to bring the budget smartphone lineup to India in an effort to regain its lost market share in the country.
The latest offering, the Galaxy M12, will be available to purchase starting on March 18 at a base price of ₹10,999 (~$150). For that price, you"ll get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, you can opt for a bigger memory configuration of 6GB/128GB for ₹13,499 (~$186).
Under the hood, the device is powered by an 8nm-based Exynos 850 octa-core chipset with a clock speed of 2.0GHz. It also packs a massive 6000mAh battery with support for 15W adaptive fast charging.
The phone sports a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio. At the top of it sits an 8MP selfie snapper. Meanwhile, there"s a quad-camera setup on the back comprising a 48MP main sensor featuring an ISOCELL GM2 sensor that Samsung touts for its ability to capture detailed shots. It also consists of a 5MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Like its other new Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy A32 5G, the Galaxy M12 includes a side fingerprint sensor for security. It runs One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 and will be up for grabs via Samsung"s online store, Amazon India, and partner retail stores.
