The Samsung Gear S3 has been out for a little over a year and the firm has managed to keep it fresh by issuing numerous software updates. While some are larger like its Value Pack Update, others only offer simple fixes or improvements, but can also prove to be critical. Now, Samsung has issued a new update that will increase battery life and improve Bluetooth connectivity.
The update, firmware version R760XXU2CRC3/R760OXA2CRC3, is rolling out to folks that are in United States, Canada, and South Korea. Those that are in other regions should see the update soon.
The battery life improvement will be a welcome update for most, especially those who saw dramatic battery life loss when Samsung pushed its last update for the Gear S3. Naturally, it is unknown just how much battery life improvement will be experienced with the update, but hopefully, those that were suffering will now find solace with the new firmware.
If you want to manually check to see if the update is available for your Gear S3, you can head into the Settings menu on the Gear app on your device, navigate to the About menu and choose to Update Gear.
