Samsung users have been receiving Note10 ads via Bixby

What the heck is this trash?

And why cant you turn them off except by going into the Bixby settings? This is why no one wants this Bixby garbage on their phone. pic.twitter.com/ChgvQUBmQB

Several users on Twitter have noticed Galaxy Note10 ads being delivered through the firm’s voice assistant software, Bixby. Some other users have received the notification through the Korean firm’s payments app, Samsung Pay. One user even showed screenshots that say Bixby Marketing can not be turned off from the notification, instead you have to go into the Bixby settings directly and disable marketing and marketing notifications.

Many users seem to be pretty annoyed that Samsung is deploying these ads on its devices, with one user exclaiming “I’m not getting a Samsung phone again. Paid too much to have ads getting pushed to it.” The move seems reminiscent of Amazon’s decision to put ads on Android handsets’ lock screens that were sold to Prime members at discounted rates; the firm has since ended the practice.

This isn’t the first time that Samsung has pushed these types of ads to its users. While it’s understandable that the company may want to make its less tech-savvy customers know about the new device, it’s also worth considering how expensive some Samsung models are, and whether it’s proper of them to be sending advertisements to people’s devices.

If you own a Samsung device and want to switch off the notification, it’s worth going into the settings of Samsung apps that could be used to push ads to your device and look for any sort of option to disable marketing notifications.
