Samsung's DeX Station supports Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950

It has been a couple months since the announcement of Samsung"s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. While the handsets have generated an enormous amount of sales, there isn"t much news heard about its DeX Station accessory. If unfamiliar, the $149 desktop dock accessory offers a way to interface a Galaxy S8 or S8+ to a monitor and offer a PC-like user experience. If this sounds familiar, it is because Microsoft announced something identical called the Display Dock nearly two years ago when it launched the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

Oddly enough, it turns out that the older Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 (and, theoretically, any Continuum-compatible Windows 10 Mobile handset) can also be used with Samsung"s DeX Station. This was shown to be working by YouTube user gazcart who has uploaded two videos showing off the capabilities of the dock with the Lumia handsets. Naturally, there really isn"t any additional benefit to using a DeX Station with a Lumia, but it"s interesting to see that it does support older handsets that are running a completely different OS.
