Samsung's Galaxy A90 rumored to have a sliding rear camera that also rotates for selfies

Smartphone makers have been coming up with their own unique ways of building a truly full-screen device without resorting to a notch on the display. For its part, Vivo debuted the bezel-less NEX in June 2018 with a motorized pop-up front camera system, a design shared by the OPPO Find X which was unveiled a few days later.

Now, Samsung is believed to be working on its own modification to that concept by slapping a sliding camera onto the back of its rumored Galaxy A90 smartphone that also rotates for front shooting. Prolific leaker Steve McFly (@OnLeaks), who leaked the phone"s camera design on Twitter, noted that this construction seems to combine ideas from the Find X and OPPO"s 2013 smartphone, the CyanogenMod-powered N1.

According to new and yet unconfirmed but seemingly reliable source, #Samsung #GalaxyA90 will come with a sliding and rotating camera system (kinda mix between Oppo Find X and Oppo N1 systems) which allows the camera to be used as front and rear camera depending its position... pic.twitter.com/A6NBRzFFvK

The OPPO N1 was equipped with a 13MP swivel camera on the back, eliminating the need for a separate front snapper. By supposedly merging the rear and front cameras into a single system, the Galaxy A90 could be seen as Samsung"s strategy to bring more innovation to its upgraded Galaxy A lineup after announcing the Galaxy A50 and A30 earlier this week.

Since the latest claim remains unconfirmed, however, it"s always wise to take this with a pinch of salt.
