The coronavirus outbreak has led people to take better care of their hygiene. Considering how much we use our smartphones and the number of germs they carry, it is important we clean our smartphones regularly as well. So, to help sanitize your phone and kill all bacteria and germs on it, Samsung has launched the Galaxy Sanitizing Service.
As the name indicates, the service aims to disinfect your Galaxy smartphone of all germs and bacteria. Samsung is offering this service for free through its official service centers and Experience Stores. The company"s sanitization device is using UV-C light to disinfect Galaxy phones and not using any harsh chemical or cleaning agent for this. The service is available for all Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy Watch, and the Galaxy Buds. It is also recommended that one does not use harsh chemicals or other cleaning agents to clean their smartphone as that can damage the oleophobic coating or cause other kinds of issues. The company notes that the UV-C light will not be effective against killing all bacteria and germs on your phone.
Samsung says that it has tested its sanitization device properly to ensure that the UV-C light does not affect the phone"s performance. The company has sourced these sanitization devices from third-party vendors. For now, Samsung is offering the Galaxy Sanitizing Service for free in 19 markets across the globe including Argentina, Chile, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, United States, Ukraine, and Vietnam. It will expand the service to other countries like Australia, Canada, France, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, and the United Kingdom over the coming days.
