Samsung's January security patch is now rolling out to the Galaxy S6 edge+ in the EU

A couple of weeks ago, Google announced and launched its monthly security update for Android. The January update was quickly adopted by companies like LG and Samsung - with the latter now releasing its update to the Galaxy S6 edge+ handset.

The update, firmware version XXS3BQA7, will be arriving on S6 edge+ handsets through an over-the-air (OTA) update and will offer 67 fixes from Google and an additional 28 fixes from Samsung. This update will arrive on unlocked variants of the device that were purchased in Europe. Naturally, this is an update that is currently being rolled out, so while it might not immediately be available, it should arrive in a timely manner. If curious to see whether the update is available, be sure to check your settings and try downloading the updates manually.

Samsung is also working on getting Android 7.0 Nougat to a majority of its handsets. After offering a beta program, the company is slowly rolling out the update in its official form. Unfortunately, a timeline has not been given for each of the supported handsets.
