Samsung has rolled out an update for the SoundAssistant app that allows owners of Galaxy devices running Android 10 to switch to a vertical volume slider.
Google introduced the vertical volume slider in Android 9.0 Pie. However, Samsung stuck to a horizontal layout for the volume slider even with Android 10 and One UI 2.0. Thankfully, with the latest SoundAssistant update, the company is providing users with an option to switch to a vertical volume slider.
By default, the vertical volume control panel shows up on the right side of the display, but Samsung is providing an option to change its position to the left. There are other customization options for the volume slider as well, including the ability to change its color theme. One can even expand the volume slider by tapping the arrow icon at the very bottom to bring up a detailed volume control panel.
The latest version of SoundAssistant adds the vertical volume panel to Samsung devices that are running Android 10 with One UI 2.0. This means, if your Galaxy S9, Note9, S10, or Note10 has received the Android 10 update, you can update Sound Assistant to enjoy this new feature. The option is tucked under the "Volume panel theme" option in the app.
