Although we are still early in the lifespan of the Galaxy Watch Active, only being announced in February, its successor has been tearing up the internet over the past month, giving us a glimpse at what"s to come. While we don"t know when this new wearable will arrive, we are luckily getting new details about its features.
With its lower price point, it was only natural for the Galaxy Watch Active to be missing features that were found on the more expensive Galaxy Watch. It looks like Samsung will attempt to rectify one of these missing features in the upcoming Watch Active 2, as it is being reported that the watch will offer a "Touch Bezel" that can be used to navigate the UI by simply swiping your finger across the rim of the bezel. While it isn"t a physical rotating bezel like what you would find on the Galaxy Watch but it seems like a nice compromise.
It is also being reported that the new watch will make use of Bluetooth 5.0. While it is unclear how this will be used in the new device, it is possible with the new technology to achieve connectivity over longer distances, better battery life, and a connection with multiple audio devices at once.
As reported earlier, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will feature a similar design as the Watch Active, but will come in two sizes, a 40mm and 44mm option. The watch will also reportedly feature an ECG, which should make it a more alluring purchase option for those interested in tracking more health metrics. As mentioned previously, it is unknown when this watch will come to retail or be announced, but there is the possibility that it could make its debut next month during Samsung"s Unpacked event.
