Last year, Microsoft kicked off its Skype chat bot experiment as it looked to "conversations of the future," even going as far as creating a Spock bot for Trekkies. The latest to join the platform is New York-based SAVEUR Magazine.
Founded in 1994, the publication is one of the largest of its kind, and the inclusion of its bot in Skype gives you access to the vast database of recipes. Each week, the bot will send over suggestions of recipes for you to try - especially given that Thanksgiving and Christmas are not that far away. Moreover, even though there are some pre-defined questions, you can also just input an ingredient and SAVEUR will suggest recipes based on it:
If you wish to add the bot to your Skype contacts, Microsoft has provided this link. However, since it"s currently broken, you can simply click in the search field in the new Skype desktop app, and put in the name of the magazine. It should appear in the search results and upon clicking on the relevant result, a card will appear - which will give you more details about the bot. Clicking on the blue Get started button will add the bot to your contacts and initiate a conversation.
