Sea of Thieves is getting a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover

Sea of Thieves is about to drop a massive new adventure, with Rare unveiling a surprising crossover that has the pirate adventure game joining forces with Disney"s Pirates of the Caribbean. Catch the wacky and Captain Jack Sparrow-filled trailer above.

Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life will be a free update carrying brand new story-driven campaigns similar to previous Tall Tales. Here"s how the studio described the setting:

Players will go on a quest to free Jack Sparrow from his prison and witness the power of the world’s greatest Pirate Treasure, which Jack just so happens to have stolen. Jack is being pursued by his old enemy, the notorious Davy Jones, and their arrival on the Sea of Thieves will ultimately spell disaster if Jones and his forces aren’t stopped.

Players will be sailing across new environments taken straight from the Pirates of the Caribbean universe in these campaigns as they fight alongside Captain Jack Sparrow. New enemies are on the menu too, including Sirens that swarm the seas and Ocean Crawlers that can make the decks of ships a hard place to be.

The free update carrying Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life will land on June 22 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and to players on Xbox Game Pass.
