The Cursed Sails campaign of Sea of Thieves is winding down, with it slated to come to an end next week following the extension. Because of that, today"s 1.2.3 update is completely server side, meaning there is nothing to download for Xbox One or Windows 10 players.
Once again, the Cursed Sails skeleton ship battle times have been rotated so any players with time issues can catch a different region"s skeleton crew this week. However, unlike before, the skeleton crews will remain the same as last week"s.
Here is the solitary fixed issue from the backend changes as well as the list of known issues currently in the game:
Fixed Issues
- Fleet Protectors of the Ancient Isles Commendation now unlocks correctly.
Players who have met the requirements for the commendation and did not earn it before the fix have now been awarded the Commendation correctly.
Known Issues
- The Kraken has been temporarily disabled due to performance issues.
We are working to enable this feature as quickly as possible.
- Merchant Alliance crates on board a ship which sinks will not float to the surface and cannot be picked up.
- When a player receives multiple alliance offers within close proximity, accepting one alliance will form an alliance with all crews offering an alliance.
Accepting an offer should only form an alliance with the closest crew. We have a fix for this issue which will be released in next weeks patch.
The Sea of Thieves Rare team was present at Microsoft"s gamescom stream yesterday, and gave a sneak peek at the next major content update, Forsaken Shores. Landing in September, this campaign will bring along a new volcanic region, rowboats, a new merchant quest, and much more.
Moreover, in the downtime between Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores will be when the Cursed Crews Bilge Rat Adventure will drop. The mini-campaign will give pirates the opportunity to use cursed cannonballs and also introduce the new Reaper"s Mark flag. Any ship flying this flag will broadcast its location to every other crew in the world.
